Internship opportunity for an ambitious, self-starter to assist in the development and creation of employee communications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Assist in the design and graphics of employee benefit guides
  • Aid in drafting, editing and managing of client materials
  • Develop client or prospective client flyers, postcards, posters, and other Open Enrollment materials
  • Assist with coordination and planning of special projects and client education
  • Collaborate with internal teams on new ideas, direction and methods to enhance client marketing and communication efforts
Learning Objectives

Over the course of this internship, the Employee Benefits Communications Intern will gain valuable insight into how a communications team functions within the Employee Benefits department. More specifically, the intern will:

  • Recognize the core attributes and strategic initiatives of a communications department
  • Learn the importance of brand and messaging consistency across all marketing mediums
  • Assist in developing new processes to streamline the activities of the communications department
  • Gain on-the-job experience with common marketing tools and software
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Proficient in Adobe InDesign, familiarity with additional Adobe Creative Cloud products preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and with others; prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Products: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
required education/certification
  • Recently completed or working toward a college degree, preferably in a related field of study (e.g., Marketing/Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Graphic Design, etc.)
job location
  • Carmel, IN – however, working from your home will be required for at least some, potentially all of the internship
start date
  • Fall internship (August – November 2020)
