Michael M. Bill is the chairman of the board of directors at MJ Insurance, the company he co-founded in 1964. MJ Insurance is the result of a shared vision to create an independent insurance agency based on sound financial principles and strong customer service, which has since grown into one of the top 100 independent insurance agencies in the nation as well as a “Best Place to Work” in both Indiana and Arizona.
His leadership and determination have enabled MJ to standout amongst its peers, becoming the largest locally-owned, privately held, independent agency in Indiana. With over 50 years in business, Michael’s strategic positioning and strong financial management skills has allowed MJ to grow into a true market leader. As Chairman of the Board, Michael remains involved in client accounts and acts as a mentor for many of MJ’s employees.

Michael H. Bill joined the MJ Insurance team in 1992 as a consultant in the Risk Management + Commercial Insurance department. He became president in 2001, where he oversaw the company’s business operations and was named chief executive officer in the fall of 2006. Being “purpose-driven,” Michael offers his unique visions, broad experience and wealth of knowledge to all he comes into contact with while focusing on the positive impact he may have upon key constituents – MJ associates and their families, clients, partners and our local communities.
Michael aligns his philosophy with the principles the company was founded upon. Michael believes you must strive to earn and maintain trust by continually acting in our clients’ best interest. Each and every transaction conducted by our organization is done in a professional manner, placing our integrity above all else. Simply put, our goal is to do what we say that we are going to do and do it with honesty and sincerity.

Jon E. Loftin
Jon Loftin joined MJ Insurance in 2004 as chief operating officer and assumed the role of president in 2006. He is responsible for setting the vision and strategic direction of the firm and oversight of the day-to-day execution while ensuring profitable growth. Throughout his successful tenure, Jon has developed and implemented strategic business plans leading to substantial revenue and profit growth for the company. He continually concentrates on shaping a business environment where growth and development flourish.
Jon brings MJ’s core values to life at all levels of the organization by championing significant process and performance improvements, through driving change, accountability and excellence. Jon considers MJ’s greatest asset to be their people. He believes in developing people, building leaders and unleashing innovation. Jon ensures that all team members understand MJ’s six core values and purpose, and exactly how their role influences the success of the company.
Brian P. FriendCHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Brian P. Friend
Brian Friend brings more than 25 years of financial experience to the MJ team. As MJ’s chief financial officer, Brian brings invaluable insight of an industry veteran to help our company become one of today’s leading insurance agencies. Brian is responsible for strategic planning as well as budget formulation, acquisition structuring, shareholder planning and is focused on the financial health and success of MJ. Brian regularly meets with department leaders within MJ to determine the direction of the company, where improvements can be implemented and how things are operating.
Brian is also a member of MJ’s Value Creation Team, which is responsible for providing the strategic direction for MJ in alignment with our purpose. Prior to joining MJ, Brian worked for the accounting firm of BKD (formerly Olive, LLP) where he primarily served the construction, agri-business and insurance agency industries. Brian brings with him a firm understanding of finance and what it takes for a business to succeed.
Chad MillerCHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER
Chad Miller joined the MJ Insurance team in 2017 and serves as chief information officer. A 30-year technology veteran with expertise in enterprise data governance, ERP management, and systems development, Chad oversees the execution of MJ’s digital vision and strategic direction of information technology. Prior to joining MJ, Chad spent over 25 years in informational technology roles in various industries. Most recently, Chad held the title of senior director of technology development at Butler University in Indianapolis.
At MJ, Chad leads a team dedicated to improving both the client and employee experience through technological advancement and enhanced digital strategies. He also serves on MJ’s Value Creation Team. The VCT is a team committed to providing the strategic direction for the firm in alignment with our purpose.
Britni ShroutEXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, MARKETING + COMMUNICATIONS
Britni Shrout joined the MJ Insurance team in 2008 as commercial account coordinator and quickly moved up the ranks. She currently functions as executive vice president of marketing & communications where she oversees the agency’s marketing and communication efforts. From brand management to direct marketing to corporate communications and community relations, Britni’s proven expertise and solid grasp of marketing communications has made her an invaluable asset to the team.
As the marketing & communications leader, Britni is responsible for MJ’s marketing, communications and public relations initiatives. With a passion for creativity, collaboration and planning, Britni works to increase the visibility of MJ’s services and programs while developing marketing strategies to increase awareness and promote agency growth. In addition, Britni is a member of MJ’s Value Creation Team, a team responsible for providing the strategic direction for the organization in alignment with our purpose.
Andy VetorEXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, EMPLOYEE BENEFITS
Andy Vetor began his insurance career in 2002 as an employee benefits consultant at MJ Insurance and quickly grew to become one of the agency’s top performers. His track record for growth and leadership has continued to develop throughout his career, as he became one of the youngest partners in company history. Andy was named executive vice president of our Employee Benefits department in 2013 and was appointed to the Value Creation Team – a team charged with providing the strategic direction for the firm – that same year.
Andy’s expertise lies in consulting group clients on cost-saving benefit solutions. He works with his clients to truly understand their business and designs innovative solutions that align with the company’s corporate goals and objectives. Andy has a broad base of specialties including employee relations and communications, benefits technology, plan design analysis and consumer driven health plans, along with extensive experience in the development and implementation of employer sponsored onsite clinics and wellness programs. At MJ Insurance, Andy and his team work to provide value and unparalleled service to all of their clients, a longstanding value that continues today.
Cindy H. StellhornEXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, SORORITY
Cindy H. Stellhorn
Cindy H. Stellhorn joined the MJ Insurance team in 1998 and currently functions as the executive vice president of MJ’s Sorority practice group. She brings over four decades of insurance experience to MJ with adept knowledge in the field of sororities and fraternal organizations and risk management. Past experience includes her role as chief operating officer and sorority department manager at Conseco.
Cindy is a firm believer in giving back to the community and participates in several philanthropic organizations. She has served on the board for the Boys & Girls Club of Noblesville, as well as a past president for the Independent Insurance Agents of Central Indiana.
Ryan MichalowskiCHIEF PEOPLE OFFICER
As chief people officer, Ryan Michalowski is responsible for the strategic oversight of all employee development, recruitment and human resource functions of MJ. Ryan is also a member of the Value Creation Team, a team tasked with providing the strategic direction of the firm. With over 14 years of experience, Ryan’s expertise lies in transforming the human resources function into a strategic business unit. His qualifications include: leadership and talent development, employee retention, change management, conflict resolution, short- and long-term strategic planning and professional advancement training.
Ryan works to enhance the overall MJ experience – increasing associate engagement while developing associate and talent management strategies. He is also responsible for the development and execution of associate on-boarding programs, improvement of operational HR – including service delivery and recruiting, as well as succession planning and leadership development.
