It was “career love at first sight.”
Jessaca Latteier was all about health risk management, having worked as a consultant, as well as for a large corporation managing onsite clinics and population health for years. She wasn’t actively looking for a change but agreed to a meeting with MJ Insurance based on a recommendation from a friend in the industry who told her she “just had to meet these crazy innovative people.”
During an initial meeting and secondary interview, Jessaca found the team at MJ to be a great match. “The casual interview format was highly entertaining with good cultural conversation, and they were open to someone who brought new ideas and innovative solutions for clients to the table,” she explains. “These meetings created quite an impact on me, and the MJ culture is ultimately what made me want to join the team.”
Jessaca started as an Employee Benefits Client Executive for the Phoenix office with a handful of accounts and a small service team. Each year since, the service team model has been enhanced based on collective input. “Every voice matters at MJ,” she says, “and we’ve been able to develop and add expertise in population health, wellness, communication, analytics and more. Our team has nearly tripled in just four years.” Today, Jessaca serves as Vice President of Client Experience and leads the Employee Benefits service team.
“MJ has supported whatever we could dream up—and it’s worked,” she says. “I love the problem solving and strategy creation here. So much of our job is about solving a problem before anyone else even knows they exist. That makes working here like being in a perpetual jigsaw puzzle, always solving, creating and then watching the solution come to fruition.”
Jessaca’s creativity doesn’t stop at the office either. She loves working in her garden, tending to 12 fruit trees, a full vegetable garden, dozens of other trees, flower beds and a rose garden path. She’s also active in Fresh Start, a career support network for women that provides help with resume development, interview skills and even work wardrobes.
Asked what she would pitch about MJ to a potential new hire, Jessaca doesn’t hesitate: “If you like autonomy and flexibility—not fitting in a box, but being encouraged to define what a better future should look like—MJ offers a safe and innovative environment where your voice will not just be heard, but valued. We are changing the way insurance is being delivered. MJ is fast-paced, exciting and fulfilling work. We truly do make insurance fun.”
