Insurance – A Noble Task

It’s week two of the fourth annual Insurance Careers Month and I’m on a mission. My hope is that by sharing some insight about the roles and day-to-day environment at MJ, that I might convince a few of our blog readers to consider the career possibilities that can be found in insurance. And even if you aren’t in the market for a change, perhaps you know someone who is. If so, I’d sure appreciate it if you could share the great news about life at MJ with another family member, business contact or recent college grad. We’re always in the market for new talent!

Last week we talked about the innovation and progress MJ has made in relation to technology. This week I want to share the more human side of our business. Quite literally, insurance relates to nearly every aspect of life. Our charge is to help individuals and businesses alike protect the things they value most.

That alone is a pretty noble task.

And it takes people who not only have business savvy, but also understand the personal care and connection that’s required to help each client feel secure and confident should they suffer a loss. It also takes teamwork – and at MJ, we have that in spades. We think that’s because of the exceptional employee culture that we’ve created. It’s what makes our agency a one-of-a-kind place to work and helps us not only attract but also retain some pretty remarkable associates long-term. The fact that we were named both a Best Places to Work and Healthiest Employer in 2018 just reinforces what we already knew – this is just an enjoyable place to spend the work week. When our staff was surveyed for the Best Places to Work award, 96% said “senior leaders of the organization value people as their most important resource.” That’s definitely true from my perspective. And maybe best of all, the survey revealed that “FUN” was the top word used to describe MJ. Gotta love that.

Have I piqued your interest? If so, see some of our current career opportunities on our website. And check back in with our blog, MJ Insight, over the next two weeks too – we’ll reveal other ways MJ creates the kind of careers so many wish they had.
