Indiana Charity Receives More Than $30,000 from MJ Insurance

Food 4 Souls to Benefit from 30-in-30 Campaign

INDIANAPOLIS – (June 22, 2017)MJ Insurance, one of the nation’s largest privately-held insurance agencies with more than five decades of success, recently ended a 30-week-long fundraising campaign for local charity Food 4 Souls, an organization that serves the homeless community in Indiana.

The “30-in-30” campaign, termed by the goal of raising $30,000 in 30 weeks, will provide the charity with enough funds to purchase a 15-passenger van and any costs associated to assist them in delivering food and other items to the homeless. This initiative commenced on Oct. 14, 2016 and ended May 12, 2017.

Funds were collected through various in-house initiatives, including themed baskets that were raffled off, individual contributions and “jeans week” – a favorite among the associates. Associates were able to pay to wear jeans for one week per month throughout the entire campaign.

“Our company mantra is to inspire the success, fulfillment and wellbeing of our associates, their families, business partners, clients and the community,” said Michael H. Bill, chief executive officer of MJ Insurance. “I could not be more pleased with each and every associate at MJ who donated their time, money and efforts to help us achieve this goal and help the homeless population in our community.”

Westfield Insurance Foundation contributed to the campaign with a grant on behalf of Westfield’s “Legacy of Caring Fund,” which strives to invest in local nonprofit organizations in areas of disaster recovery, insurance pathways, family stability and safety.

Amerisure Insurance, carrier partner of MJ Insurance and long-standing company recognized for supporting local and national charitable organizations, also generously donated to the campaign.

“Thanks to these substantial donations from Westfield Insurance Foundation and Amerisure, we were able to hit our goal of $30,000. This is a wonderful way to support efforts to positively impact the community,” said Jon Loftin, president and chief operating officer of MJ Insurance.

Food 4 Souls President & Founder, Kevin Sliwa, graciously accepted the donation during an all-associate meeting at the MJ Insurance headquarters on Wednesday, June 21st.
