Are your assets at risk?

The importance of understanding your personal insurance policy

Your success was obtained through hard work, drive and determination. As a result, you have obtained assets that provide you with the luxuries in life deserved for your efforts. You should rest well at night knowing that your assets and investments have superior protection against potential risks. Unfortunately, I see far too many unknowingly purchase inadequate insurance coverage, the insight to the pitfalls of that coverage occurs when a claim does not cover the asset the policy set out to protect. If you haven’t reviewed your personal insurance policies, you could be in for an unwelcome surprise.

Upon reviewing prospective clients’ policies, I commonly discover deficiencies in policy limits required to meet their current organic insurance needs. Ignoring your policy limits will likely put you at risk for not recovering the proper expenses you may incur in the event of a claim.

  • Are you a volunteer board member for a nonprofit organization? Does the organization’s insurance policy fully protect you?
  • Do you have sufficient coverage on your primary home, secondary home or guest house? Will your policy pay to rebuild your home with the same craftsmanship and with unlimited replacement cost?
  • Do you have adequate uninsured and underinsured liability limits to protect you if you suffer serious injury or damages, and does it apply to more than vehicular accidents?
  • Do you have a complete schedule of your valuable collections insured at today’s current value?

If you’re not confident in your answers to these questions, we welcome the opportunity to review your current insurance program and ensure that your coverage and limits are properly aligned with your changing lifestyle and growing needs. Please don’t hesitate to call us today!
