At MJ, we exist to inspire the success, fulfillment and wellbeing of each person we serve: our associates and their families, business partners, clients, and our community. An important part of our purpose is giving back to our local communities.
Unable to afford the clothing items, especially shoes, to meet their school’s dress code, many homeless children living in shelters or transitional housing programs are prohibited from attending school. The lack of this basic clothing item, not only leads to absenteeism but also subjects the child to ridicule from their peers, putting them at a distinct disadvantage at the start of a new school year.
In partnership with Dayspring Center, our goal is to establish a “shoe fund” at the shelter to provide homeless children a resource for purchasing properly fitted shoes when needed.
