While some insurance brokers are encouraging employers to change their insurance policy renewal dates to avoid complying with the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, many brokers are advising against this tactic.
Shay Bierly, a broker with MJ Insurance Inc., said her firm isn’t recommending its clients change renewal dates.
“We strive hard to educate ourselves and clients to the pitfalls of the avoidance tactics,” she said. “We strongly guide our clients to not make rash business decisions based on the latest, article, trend or seminar they have attended.”
