INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (January 14, 2013) – DEFENDER Direct, a leading dealer of home security and digital communication brands, has partnered with MJ Insurance, a leading employee benefits and property-casualty agency, and OurHealth, an independent provider of integrated on-site health management services, to launch an on-site health clinic.
Effective January 7, approximately 650 Defender employees and their families now have access to the clinic located at 4151 East 96th St., Indianapolis.
“As we began to research clinic options, our partner, MJ Insurance, presented us with an opportunity to align with an existing OurHealth clinic,” DEFENDER Direct Director of Human Resources Ryan Michalowski said. “The opportunity to share a clinic not only lowered our start-up cost, but allowed us to extend this benefit to our team members in a short period of time. Our objective and vision is to lower employees’ healthcare cost and enhance a healthy and productive workforce.”
At this clinic, employees can receive annual exams, immunizations, blood tests, generic drug prescriptions, acute care and other screenings and treatment procedures. These new physician and clinical services are offered to associates and their dependents on a DEFENDER Direct sponsored health plan.
“This clinic will act as a hub for DEFENDER in offering the ability for near-site employees to access care for acute health issues,” said Kevin Sliwa, partner and employee benefits consultant with MJ Insurance. “Perhaps more importantly, the clinic will offer a place where they identify potential health issues early on and then treat and manage them with engagement programs that are tailored to the personal needs of each participant.
