“Work Comp Experience Modification Rating and How Upcoming Changes May Impact your Business” seminar

Please join us Thursday, June 28, 2012 at 8:30 am to discuss the new work comp experience rating formula and how these changes may impact your business. A complimentary breakfast will be provided.

Beginning January 2013, the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) will be making incremental changes to their split rating point and each year thereafter through 2015. This rating change could increase or decrease your experience rating mod over the next few years. It is important to begin considering how these changes could impact your workers’ compensation premium. These changes are nationwide, not Indiana-specific.

Besides a potential increase in premium, there are other concerns about the impact the rating change will have, in particular on the construction industry. Since many large corporations and government entities will not contract with a business whose WC mod is higher than 1.00, contractors whose mod met the criteria before the change , but increases after the rating change, may lose the ability to bid and be awarded certain jobs resulting in lost revenue for the business.

Join us on June 28th to hear from industry insiders from the Indiana Compensation Rating Bureau on these matters and:

  • Understanding the EMR formula
  • Reasons why EMR can change
  • Experience rating limits
  • Experience rating primary/excess split point revision
  • Split point transition program
  • The split point change impact
